Behavioral Supports
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities may experience behaviors that impede their ability to live a fulfilling, community-based life. Behavioral supports must be person-centered, positive, offer choices and foster social interaction. In addition, relationships with direct support professionals must be built on mutual trust. Building behavioral supports around the person enables her/him to live a life of choice in their community.
