A woman counseling a man with down syndrome

Are you a family member, caregiver, or provider looking for support to help someone with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral/mental health needs?

Join us for this FREE webinar to learn about START Services NJ, a program for adults (21+) with IDD who qualify for NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) services. START works alongside a person’s current supports to help them stay safe and thrive at home and in their community. This program helps to prevent future crises, reduce hospital visits, and provide individuals and caregivers with practical resources and skills needed to better support someone.

Attendees will learn:

  • What START services are and who is eligible
  • How crisis prevention and response supports work in real-life situations
  • How START collaborates with families, providers, and community partners
  • What types of support are available (clinical consultation, training, in-home coaching, and more)
  • How to make a referral and what to expect after reaching out
  • Real-life examples of how START has helped individuals and families feel more supported, stable, and confident

This session is designed to be helpful for both families and providers looking for additional support options in New Jersey.
