Community Living
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities want to live a person-centered life like everyone else. They want to choose, with support if needed, where and how to live. Community living can mean in the family home, a rented apartment, condominium, or townhome, owning a home or living in a licensed provider group home or apartment. But it’s so much more than a house in a community. Community living allows access to all the same local activities we all have, the same transportation access and the same employment opportunities.
